Hollie's Hobbie
My Personal Collection Showcase

About Me
I think I was born with my love for the equine. There was no magical moment when I realized that horses were a gift to this world. I always knew it, before I was introduced to my first REAL horse, which was probably at my Aunt Mary's Farm. Everything I did as a child revolved around horses. I drew them, I dreamed about them, I talked about them non-stop. I papered my bedroom walls with images of these free-spirited, soulful, powerful, proud beasts!
...And before I was old enough to buy one of my very own, I discovered my life-long passion for Breyer Model Horses. The grace, the beauty all captured in a 1: 9 scale cellulose acetate model that I could afford occasionally. That was in the 70's. My Mom, my siblings, my friends all contributed to my collection. Holidays, Birthdays or just friends-of friends who were dispersing their "childhood toys"
And as the years passed, I did own horses of my own and made them an important part of my life...No better time is spent than just being quiet with your horse...the warmth, the sounds and the scents take you far away from the ugliness of the world...A magical period in my life, but like all good things
....Long Story Short- through the years I have acquired nearly 500 models!
Which brings us to the point of this page. It will serve as an Image Gallery of some of my beloved treasures which I have decided I can now part with to bring others the joy that they have brought to me!
All of my models have been shelf kept and range in age from the 60's to last year. My home is smoke-free, but I have noticed that regardless of my care a few older models have yellowed a bit and a few of them might have rubs or scuffs that I will gladly show better pics of upon request :)
I must stress though that although I'd like to pass these cherished pieces of my past on to future generations, I am not giving them away. All reasonable offers will be accepted and shipping will be extra and to the 48 states only
